From the desk of Eden Plantz
Over the next few weeks, many of our regular visitors, supporters, and readers may begin to notice some changes. We’ve grown a lot in our first year, and the time has come to look back on our first year and plan for next. One big transition we’re making is the focus of our lineup. Market research and survey of our readership has shown us that our readers prefer inspirational romance, YA, and MG. So, going forward, this will be our main focus when acquiring new manuscripts.
We’ve made the decision to close down Presence — our adult spec-fic line — but that does not mean we’re completely discounting all spec-fic. Exceptional thriller and suspense will continue to be considered for publication through Anaiah Press, but it will not be our primary focus. Likewise, our Inspirations (nonfiction) and Adventures (children’s fiction) lines will undergo some changes to better serve our readers.
One very exciting change is a new career opportunity for our Editorial Director, Kara Leigh Miller, outside of Anaiah. Over the coming months, Kara will be training as an agent apprentice with the Corvisiero Agency. She is not leaving Anaiah, and continues to be an integral part of our team. However, due to her increased workload and in order to avoid any ethical grey areas, Kara will no longer be accepting direct submissions at Anaiah Press, and authors repped by the Corvisiero Agency cannot be considered by Anaiah Press for publication. This is something we have discussed with the Corvisiero Agency and mutually agreed upon; it is not intended to be a slight against any agent or author. We at Anaiah Press have the utmost respect for all of the agents at Corvisiero and are immeasurably proud and supportive of Kara’s next move in her career.
We are excited about the upcoming year and all of the wonderful books we will be publishing in 2015/2016.
