Welcome back, Katy Eeten!

We are happy to welcome back Katy Eeten and have her talk about her newest romance release, A Heart Held Captive.

Tell us a little about yourself. I live in southeast Wisconsin with my husband and our two sons, ages ten and eight. I work full time in the business world, but I try to make time for writing. A Heart Held Captive is my third published book. Blast from Her Past and Christmas in Meadow Creek are also contemporary Christian romances I’ve published with Anaiah Press.

How did you get the idea for A Heart Held Captive? My books often start out with just one vague idea that came to me in a dream, and this one is no exception. I knew I wanted the heroine to be a humble woman doing a selfless medical-related act for a child and that she would meet the hero of the story during that selfless act. The rest of the story evolved as I began writing.

Tell us why we’ll love your book.

A Heart Held Captive is not only a sweet love story, it is also about a woman confronting her past and learning not to let it control her. It will have you rooting for Emily and Cole to get together while also shedding a tear for what Emily has dealt with in her own life. There is a powerful message of freedom in Christ that I hope will resonate with all readers.

What do you do when you’re not writing? When I’m not writing or working, I enjoy serving in the youth group at my church, watching TV with my husband, baking, going for walks, and spending time with my family.

How did you come up with the title of your book? I really struggled with the title this time! I had a few catchy ideas that worked well with the storyline, but they ended up being super common titles and I didn’t want anyone to mistake my book with another. So, I sent my mom the book blurb and some key words, and I asked her for title suggestions. She’s the one who came up with A Heart Held Captive. After my editor helped me weave references to captivity, freedom, etc. into my manuscript, the title really grew on me!
