Our Story

The idea for Anaiah Press was born out of a love of reading and a passion for sharing the message of God’s love. Noreen Walker’s decades-long background in business and Eden Plantz’ experience in publishing meant they both brought something useful to the table. We had the idea, the passion, and the experience. All we needed was a name. We explored many options, but nothing seemed quite right. Until we came across the word Anaiah. It’s Hebrew for answer of God or God answers. Here we were looking for a name, and He answered. And so Anaiah Press was born.

But it was going to take more than just two women with an idea to get Anaiah off the ground. We needed help. So we enlisted fellow editor Kara Leigh Miller and marketing guru Melinda Dozer, both of whom Eden had worked with at another publisher. We knew we worked well together, and we all had the same goal in mind: to encourage and inspire readers by publishing quality, Christian fiction and nonfiction books.

We started with five imprints, four of which still exist today: Anaiah Romance, Anaiah Inspirations for nonfiction, Anaiah Surge for young adult fiction, and Anaiah Adventures, which publishes children’s books. We’ve also added a line of seasonal releases for the Christmas holiday season and a line of cozy mysteries (forthcoming in 2019).

We had some great early support, and over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to work with many talented editors and production designers. We’ve also had the honor of working with many great authors to publish some truly wonderful books. Some of our first authors are still with us today, and some have gone on to have successful writing careers across genres and publishers. A lot has changed over the years, but one of the things that has remained constant is our mission.

Anaiah Press’s mission is to share the message of God’s love by publishing quality, Christian fiction and nonfiction books that inspire, entertain, and educate readers of all ages.

In order to stay on mission, we have to have a pretty distinct set of core values. These are values that we don’t just agree with but believe in and live to our fullest abilities. So, what are these values that we at Anaiah Press believe in so strongly?

The first is LOVE. Love of God, love for our fellow humans, love for living creatures.

Another important value is GOODWILL. Benevolence, altruism, philanthropy, and humanitarianism.

We also believe in PASSION. Passion for creativity, passion for reading, passion for learning, passion for helping others.

And last, but certainly not least, we believe in INTEGRITY. Honesty, professionalism, transparency, and dedication to quality.

Love, Goodwill, Passion, Integrity. It was hard to narrow our list of values down to these four main items, but ultimately, we came to the decision that these are the core of what we stand for both as a company and as people. These values have existed at the core of who we are and what we do since the day we opened our doors and received our first submission, and they continue to shape our vision for the future. It is our hope that the books we publish and the work that we do will touch lives and hearts in a meaningful way, that we can continue to share the message of God’s redeeming love with readers everywhere. And we want to thank everyone who has been and will be a part of this mission with us.
